Todd and Marci Schaffer joined us this weekend at the cabin. We were awarded with the warmth of long-time friendships as the Cooks joined us for dinner on Saturday night. Both other couples left too soon though since Sunday saw us take to the lake on ice skates. To skate on our lake, we have to have something like the perfect storm with three things happening: 1) There has to be a serious cold snap to make the lake freeze to the point that it’s safe to walk on. 2) There has to be little or no snow. 3) We have to be up there. The last time these 3 things happened was more than 10 years ago, so to get out on the ice was a real treat.
