Emily and Patrick dazzled the crowds at this year’s Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby competition with their unique hand-crafted racing vehicles. Patrick sanded until his hand was sore and then did all the painting on his Bumblebee car from the movie “Transformers.” Emily won most creative entry (voted by dad) for her D-con Rat Mobile. The rules strictly state that the child must help construct the vehicle. Emily glued on the rat. Dad had fun building it. For their efforts Patrick placed 5th in his division and Emily placed 9th. The two were not invited to district championships, but won a trophy on which to mount their respective cars.
