Patrick’s paper: “Trip to the Bahamas”
November 4th, 2010 by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
In the deepest recesses of the recycle bin we discovered a recently-tossed, two-page story, hand-written by Patrick, about our trip to Turks and Caicos in the Bahamas. The trip in February of 2008 is well documented on this blog but until now I believed that I was the only one taking notes. No one in this household, short of Patrick who was 6 at the time, knew that he was getting his version down on paper. When asked about the paper, PT said he believes that he wrote it for school in 1st grade. He also believes that he never finished it.
Here is Patrick’s paper exactly as he wrote it:
I went on a trip to the Bahamas and it felt so warm (It was near the equator.) I felt like I was on the Sun! Later, it was the first night, and I was exausted.
We went to a Japanese restraunt and saw our cook actually cook right in front of us! (He wasn’t Japanese though.) Then it was the second day, and my sister and I “discovered” these two water slides next to a Jacussi. (That’s a different story.) One of them was pitch black and the other one was awsome!
The only time I went on the pitch black one (I call it the waterslide of doom) was on the third day, and it was fast!! After I went on it I fell into the pool below (Its for saftey you won’t want to go on a water slide and after it die would you?) and almost drowned.
I got back to the surface and went to the swim up bar and ordered a strawberry dagger (a type of smoothie) and they are the best.
On the fourth day we went to the beach and and we had fun, but it was after that was fun! We played chess and it was giant the board was at least 10ft. X 10ft. Later it was night and there was an eclipse but it wasn’t a solar eclipse. It was a lunar (total) eclipse. We went to our hotel room, and I couldn’t sleep. I told my mom that I couldn’t sleep and she gave me some Tylenol to help me, but that didn’t help. I ended up sleeping at 7:00 am. I woke up at the time I get out of school which is 2:20, and after I woke up I realized everyone was out of bed. Then I noticed the time which was 2:20.
