From the Mouth of Patrick

Patrick’s never been one to be short on words–short on forethought before the words come out, perhaps. Fortunately we’ve managed to gather several of his more amusing musings and put them all in one place to save forever.
At 2 years old, after being warned that the car seat was a little hot: “No it’s not. It’s a big hot!.”
At 2 and a half, after getting into his sister’s toy makeup case and after we called him beautiful (angrily:) “I’m not beautiful, I’m pretty!”
While driving by the new Toys “R” Us at age 3: “That’s the store that we need to go to and open the door and put our money in.”
At age 3 and a half: “When you kiss someone, your heart goes out to them, and when you’re done kissing them your heart goes back in.”
At age 4 while explaining how the universe works: “When you have snowflakes in the clouds in the sky and you have mountains, you get snow. That’s how it works.”
At age 4, about our neighbor 2 doors down who is a regular reader of McClellandfamily.com: “Daddy, there’s Victor, only he has more white hairs now.”
“Daddy, how many whoppers are there in those tall trees?” At age 6 after waking up in the car while driving through Calaveras Big Trees and hearing daddy say, “Wow, that’s a whopper of a tree.”
Patrick: “Who’s that they’re interviewing on TV, Mommy?” Mommy: “That’s Michael Jackson.” Patrick: “Was that before he died?” at age 8.
“Dad, if you were 1 inch tall how big would an orange be to you?” at age 8.
