Les is still younger than dirt!

April 28th, 2005 by Steve · 2 Comments ·

Lisa’s dad, Les celebrated his 75th birthday surrounded by family and close friends in April. Les’ three daughters and their respective husbands threw the shin-dig for eternally–young patriarch of the family.

Guests included MG Club members, family and old friends…er, I mean…long-time friends, and were treated to barbecued tri-tip and a 5 minute slide show of Les and his family. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Commenting that “these are all of the people who will probably be at my funeral,” Les gave a teary-eyed speach that was heart-felt but noticeably short for him. Said son-in-law Steve, “I’ve seen him climb on his soap box for 20 minutes at a stretch.” For clarity’s sake, Les only held up the wall for 6 minutes on this night.

Yukking it up:

Youngest MG’ers, Eva and John Terschak after dinner.

Marily and Dick Bernhardt enjoying dinner on the back patio.

Nancy Garten and husband Kent toast the man of the night.

Dennis and Pat Rainey toast and share in the birthday wishes.

Karen (Mimi) Lee and Gretchen McClelland

Patty Reshke and Lisa help Les celebrate.

A letter of Thanks from Les
Dear Family,

Thank you all for the great celebration of my 75th birthday. I really appreciate the effort you all made to make the party a great success. You girls received a lot of praise from people I spoke to of how great of a party it was and how lucky I am to have a family of daughters and husbands as great as you all are. I agree with them whole-heartedly.
Thank you again. Love you all,
Dad
