Hot and Weary in Acapulco

December 29th, 2005 by Steve · 2 Comments ·

Acapulco is beautiful! Pulling into the bay with the high cliffs on both sides of the ship was breathtaking. If you have the means, I highly recommend it (Buehler.) Our stay here was brief, but fun-filled. We disembarked (I’m learning nautical terms) at about 1:30 p.m. After making the mistake of walking to the Royal Plaza Hotel (We were told it was about a mile and a half, but it turned out to be about 3 and a half,) we spent the afternoon relaxing on a padded beach “couch” (for lack of a better word) on a crowded but beautiful beach. It was PT’s first time swimming in the ocean and he took to it like, well a McClelland to the ocean.

Emily met a friend at the pool yesterday named Paxton, and Lisa and I connected with their parents today. Kip and Melissa were our adult counterparts at the hotel.

We watched the sun set over the Carnival Spirit, and headed back to get Sara on board in time for a scheduled massage. We’ll miss the cliff divers this trip, but that just leaves us a reason to come back again, perhaps when the kids are older.

Emily says this is better than Disneyland. Tomorrow Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. Wish you were here…

Meanwhile, here’s a cool photo album of the trip.
