Holiday Update 2003

December 20th, 2003 by Steve · 1 Comment ·

Happy Holidays from the Elk Grove McClellands!

Here’s a quick update with what’s been going on with us this past month: Emily turned 5, and her princess party with everyone dressed up was a huge hit. We broke out the Halloween walls (the same ones we use for Santa’s workshop too) and created a castle in the garage.

I played Santa’s elf once again on December 14th for Costco. The job entails dressing up in gay green clothing, smiling cheerfully and greeting the children, and finally taking photos of the whole event. We have the best Santa in the industry (the Santa industry that is.) I can wear tights. I can take pictures. What I can’t do is remember most of the 300 Costco employees’ kids’ names. Oh, and I’m not bilingual either. I can handle Feliz Navidad. That’s about it.

Now that our new wood floor is just about done it’s off to baseboards and door trim. Then we can think about replacing our counter tops. That’ll be the end of our little remodel for now.

As my favorite aunt, Norma would say (I can call her that here since no one else reads this blog) “Life is Full.” That’s the way we like it.

We hope you have a great holiday!

…It’s 3 years later, and the baseboards and door trim remain half done…sigh. My knees hurt. We have new counter tops as of about a year ago, and the new stove/fireplace is in and looks great. Next project is to tile the back splash and the fireplace reveal. We’ll what the heck am I doing reading old posts from 2003?! Back to it…
