Geni.com-everyone’s related

I recently discovered the latest thing in genealogical web sites. Geni.com is a beautifully presented site for creating your family tree. (Click the photo here to see a larger version.) Just enter your name, email address and gender and click “add” and you’ve begun your family tree. It’s very easy to get a fairly complex family tree up in just a few minutes. But this is just the begining.

Next you invite other family members from your tree to take a look and they, in turn, can edit and complete their sides of your family tree. It’s viral in nature, and soon you will have your tree growing like a… well… (insert the name of your favorite large weed here) and all you have to do it sit back and watch.

If you’re a member of the McClelland clan and you haven’t been invited yet, send me an email and I’ll get you on board. (I haven’t figured out a way yet to share my tree with others who aren’t actually on it.) If you’re not part of the family check out their site and get your own tree started. You won’t believe how addictive it is.
