Veteran retailer witnesses customer service disaster

Customer: “Excuse me!” Walmart employee number one doesn’t make eye contact and tries to step out of her way.
Customer: “Ahem, excuse me!” Employee number one tries to step out of the way again, again no eye contact.
Customer: “Actually I had a question. Do you work in the cold area?”
Employee number one: “No I don’t.” Employees number two and three were standing within 3 feet and had “manager” on their name tags but made no effort whatsoever to help her.
Customer walks off to look for someone to help her. Employee number one puts his head into the refrigerated box and continues sorting and straightening the lunch meats. And THAT is the reason—one of the many reasons—that I don’t shop at Walmart.
All this happened while I was taking my mother shopping in her wheelchair, and now I have to file yet another post under “~Anger.”
