Trailer hitch foils theft
May 17th, 2015 · Leave a Comment
It may be low-tech, but my trailer hitch was enough to stop a would-be thief cold in his tracks. I was standing about 15 feet away from my car with my back to it and heard “thunk”, and then screaming,”Arrrgh!” I turned around to find a man lying on the ground grasping his shin, one […]

Guestbook dies a slow death

Adding a guestbook to my site and then hiding the link to it so deep that you’d quit from carpal tunnel syndrome before you ever found it was not such a good idea. So I’ve preserved the comments of the guests that signed and move on…

Turks and Caicos, Day 6: A Fantastic Day Before Saying Goodbye

What an incredible day we had today! Two last-minute dives were an unexpected treat. Last night at dinner I realized that our flight was more than 24 hours away and I could dive again today. As for Lisa, she was dived out. Too bad: she missed a doozy.
As Lisa and the kids slept, Jojo the dolphin, a local regular, paid a surprise visit to

35 Years into the Future!

Thanks, Ryan for pointing out this mid-1960’s glimpse of what technology would be like in the year 1999. Starring a young Wink Martindale, this excerpt from a 1967 Philco-Ford production anticipated the way a stay-at-home mom of the future would engage in “fingertip-shopping” (now known as online shopping,) while the dad used his electronic correspondence machine (can you say Email?) Snopes.com confirms this is real by the way.
