Turks and Caicos, Day 2: Easy to Sum Up?
February 19th, 2008 · 1 Comment
I thought it was going to be simple to sum up our second day here: breakfast, beach, scuba class, dinner, sleep. And in fact the beginning of the day started out just like my summary. By dinnertime though, the action heated up with a tear-filled dinner, a father-daughter moment of a lifetime and some high-tech shenanigans that turned Emily into a ghost.

Turks and Caicos, Day 1: I think I’m…YAWN…tired.
February 18th, 2008 · 1 Comment
The first day of our week-long vacation to Beaches Resort on Turks and Caicos was an extremely long travel day filled with anticipation. The kids were on edge constantly with an energy that overcame their lack of sleep. Patrick slept on the plane, probably more than anybody. The adults slept when and where they could: Beth on the hard

Three Reasons I’m Going to Hell
October 27th, 2007 · Leave a Comment
And all three were in the last two weeks… Before we get to my costume pictured here, I should talk about the quasi-immoral things I’ve done with dolls in our haunted houses over the years. They’ve been mutilated, spray-painted,

Done with Disney!
December 12th, 2006 · Leave a Comment
The weather was agreeable with only a smattering of rain, and overall we had a great time in the two parks, and the kids will remember this trip for a long time to come. We’ve posted photos on the McClellandfamily.com/Photo Albums page. There’s a reason there is no 4-day park hopper pass at Disneyland: Three days is enough! Admittedly we didn’t cover everything in the park in our three days there, but nonetheless we were burned out on the crowds, the stress, and mostly the

Day 1 at Disney
December 7th, 2006 · 3 Comments
The hightlight of my day? Standing on Main Street with the fireworks going off over Sleeping Beauty’s castle and the snow begining to fall. Well we’ve made it through day 1 at Over-stimulation land, and despite all the whining, moaning and complaining from the kids, we ended the day with smiles on our faces, and landed hard on the hotel sheets. The hightlight of my day? Standing on Main Street with the

Easter weekend can be a long weekend
June 11th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Easter weekend can be a long weekend when you pack the kids into the car for a trip to the cabin. Any weekend seems too short when we make the 2 hour drive to Soda Springs on Friday afternoon, unpack, take care of cabin repairs and get the kids settled in for bed. By the time

Photos from Easter and Memorial Day
June 11th, 2006 · Leave a Comment
If you think you’ve seen a lot of snow, check out these albums. I’ve posted a few photos from Easter and from Memorial Day when we had 6 feet and 6 feet, 6 inches respectively. Aren’t you supposed to have picnics on Memorial Day? Last year Emily made $24 selling lemonade. This year she spent the weekend sledding with her brother and cousins. You can see albums on the McClellandfamily.com Photo Albums page.

Our 12th Anniversary
June 11th, 2006 · Leave a Comment
Lisa and I hopped into the car last Friday afternoon and headed out of town for our 12th anniversary. As we drove out of the neighborhood, we had no idea where we were going or what we were going to do. We threw some clothes in a bag. I figured Lisa would bring some toothpaste and a hairbrush. She figured

Live Like You Were Dying

The book I bought for Lisa on Valentine’s day because I chanced to pick it up and chanced to turn to a page that said “I love you!” in big bold letters turned out to be an inspirational tome about enjoying life and
