Christmas Day Photo Album
December 25th, 2006 · Leave a Comment
We opened gifts leasurely and then made our way to Grandma Mary’s grave to pay our respects. From there is was off to church so we wouldn’t have to listen to Les call us heathens, and then we spent the rest of the day at his house. Here’s a small photo album from Christmas morning. (Click the photo to the left.) We were awakened early Christmas morning with the kids’ discovery that Santa had made it down the

Christmas Eve at Autumn Gold Court
December 24th, 2006 · Leave a Comment
Things can get a bit chaotic with a decent-size crowd in our smallish house on Christmas eve, and we might be forgiven if we don’t manage to take a kazillion pictures. We only took a few, but we did want to share them here. Click the link or the photo on the right to see the album.

Done with Disney!
December 12th, 2006 · Leave a Comment
The weather was agreeable with only a smattering of rain, and overall we had a great time in the two parks, and the kids will remember this trip for a long time to come. We’ve posted photos on the McClellandfamily.com/Photo Albums page. There’s a reason there is no 4-day park hopper pass at Disneyland: Three days is enough! Admittedly we didn’t cover everything in the park in our three days there, but nonetheless we were burned out on the crowds, the stress, and mostly the

Day 1 at Disney
December 7th, 2006 · 3 Comments
The hightlight of my day? Standing on Main Street with the fireworks going off over Sleeping Beauty’s castle and the snow begining to fall. Well we’ve made it through day 1 at Over-stimulation land, and despite all the whining, moaning and complaining from the kids, we ended the day with smiles on our faces, and landed hard on the hotel sheets. The hightlight of my day? Standing on Main Street with the

Finding Ms. Dewey
November 21st, 2006 · Leave a Comment
I heard about a new search engine called Ms. Dewey which puts forth an impatient, witty, rather good-looking gal to answer your search inquiries. Ms. Dewey is, at first, cute, funny and whimsical. But soon I felt rushed while

Jenette’s Funeral

I never fought with the desire to do my very best on this, I only embraced it. The result was a video–shown in front of a few hundred people–that elicited sobs, laughter and, from a lot of people, praise and thanks. It was a moment of pure pride to honor the life of a friend.

Hot and Weary in Acapulco
December 29th, 2005 · 2 Comments
Acapulco is beautiful! Pulling into the bay with the high cliffs on both sides of the ship was breathtaking. If you have the means, I highly recommend it (Buehler.) Our stay here was brief, but fun-filled. We disembarked (I’m learning nautical terms) at about 1:30 p.m. After making the mistake of walking to the Royal Plaza Hotel (We were told it was about a mile and a half, but it turned out to be about 3 and a half,) we spent the afternoon relaxing on a padded beach “couch” (for lack of a better word) on a crowded but beautiful beach.

The season brings fond winter memories
December 3rd, 2005 · Leave a Comment
The cold weather’s got me nostalgic with thoughts of winters past. Just as a certain smell can bring up old memories and transport you right back to a cherished time, so too can a stinging wind across your face or a fierce rainstorm that has sent you sprinting across a puddle filled parking lot. Back that up with the smell of a smoky chimney and it becomes easy to delve into special old memories.

Giving thanks on Thanksgiving
November 25th, 2005 · Leave a Comment
We spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Dad and Gretchen’s place in Roseville, and I had much for which to be thankful. I was thankful that I got to play 9 holes of golf with the boys for about 3 hours even though Lisa threatens that next year she and the girls will
