While in New York, we thought we’d better try the self-proclaimed “Best Pizza on the Planet.” On Facebook my pizza-lovingest friends, Vincent Gee and Joe Buckley immediately began drilling me on the quality. We decided that it was very good-VERY good- but perhaps not the best pizza on the planet. It was only a few ingredients (dough, cheese, spices and a sauce) but they were quality ingredients. For a flat bread pizza it was decidedly top notch. After much debate we agreed that so much of what a food is, comes from who you eat it with, your mood, how hungry you are and a hundred other variables. We had just finished walking the streets of NY and then waiting a half hour or more for our table, so I’m afraid how cranky we were and how much our feet hurt simply weren’t going to allow this to be the very best it could be.
