Baby Killer arrives
June 26th, 2004 by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
No, it’s not some supermarket tabloid headline…Kate Elisabeth Killer was born to Amy and Dave Killer on June 26th, a little over a week early. “We figured she wanted to be here to watch the fireworks for the 4th of July,” said Amy, “In true Killer fashion our little girl arrived early.”
Early arrival may be a Killer trademark, but this young’n has a distinctly McClelland trait too—she was born on the 26th of the month. An extrordinary amount of McClellands, both living and dead, claim that day of the month as their own.
“If not the 26th,” said proud uncle Steve who was born on the 30th, “then they’re born on the 30th or the 5th.”
The baby’s efforts to arrive on the 26th left the parents without a name, and the newborn girl was dubbed Killer Baby in the hospital–better than Baby Killer, I suppose. Kate was delivered at 9:53 a.m. after only a mild battle with mom to stay put. She tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.
Steve’s Take
“She’s a normal-sized baby, but you should see her feet! I thought…we all thought that she was going to be bigger, but she came out just right.”
“A new house in Roseville, a back yard that’s not yet landscaped, a two year old in the house and along comes this healthy dose of reality. This will be fun to watch.”
“This from the little girl that once ordered ice cream at the Sacramento Zoo snack bar and then was too timid and shy to complain when they thought she said “bird seed, ” and gave her a bag-full. You’ve come a long way, Amy.”

What do you mean I’m not the baby anymore?
