Good Fences Don’t Make Good Neighbors

When KCRA’s Call 3 reporter Lynsey Paulo came knocking on my door camera-man in tow, I chose not to answer, not knowing why they might want to stick a lens and a microphone in my face. In retrospect, I wish I had chimed in on this story about our biggest problem neighbor who lives right across the street. The problem revolves around a registered sex offender who lives nearby:
ELK GROVE, Calif. — Some residents of one Elk Grove neighborhood said they are afraid to take their children outside their homes or even go outside themselves.
Read the whole story or watch the video on KCRA’s news site.
As a sidebar, I went to high-school with the deputy in the video, Terry Chew. Although I’ve seen the sheriffs at this house many times, I’ve never seen Terry there.

Update: The Sheriffs have now been called out 18 times. I called them when this wonderful neighbor tried to run me off the road two times on a street near here. I believe it was a retaliatory move on his part. However, I am NOT the neighbor in the video. Of course he doesn’t know that, and he probably doesn’t read McClellandfamily.com.
The good note: The responding Sheriff told me that the neighbor has been served with a 3 day notice to vacate the property, which is apparently on the up and up as long as the landlord goes through the courts.
Now…can we just do a bit of preliminary screening of the neighbors that move in next…?
